An emotional day

The past two weeks have been two of the best of my life and I feel truly privileged to have been able to take part and to have met some amazing people. Last night Juan (the Gaffer) , Jorge and his family came along to our host family´s home for some food, drink and a bit of farewell [...]

Last day on site tomorrow

Just got back ´home´after another tiring day on site. It was a beautiful hot day today with not a cloud in the sky. Obviously this sounds heavenly, but working outside in the heat is really very draining. Luckily most the heavy lifting has now been completed so we aren´t suffering too much. Rollercoster bus

Went to the work site today which was an adventure in itself – the roads and the bus would certainly not have passed health and safety in the UK! Really nice to see that we will be working with the family for whom we are building the house. I think this will make the project [...]

Nervous excitement

Well I think I have got everything packed. Got some last-minute items today – present for my host family, work gloves and some fruit sherbets for the journey (any excuse!), and am now at home trying to relax before a fairly early start tomorrow. I can’t believe this has come around so quickly!
